This week, I’m spotlighting some key spots in NYC to help you level up your creativity and work. Maybe you’ve heard of them, maybe they’re new to you!

CITY SPOTLIGHT
The top 5 spots the NYC creator economy shops, meets, and works
Usually, this section of the newsletter spotlights an individual in our community with some insights and learnings. But occasionally we switch it up a bit to provide some other valuable spotlights.
This week, I wanted to take the chance to share a few resources I’ve come across in the city that could be the next go-to spots on your creative journey. From high-tech gear shops to cozy podcast studios, let's dive into it.
1. B&H Photo and Video
Where creativity meets tech
Nestled at the corner of 34th Street and 9th Ave, B&H is NYC’s renowned tech store — frequented by NYC creators like Casey Neistat!
Whether you're a creator pro or just starting, their vast selection of photo, video, and audio equipment is unmatched. My recent visit last week reminded me why it's the best: the staff's expertise, the range of gear, and their genuine commitment to service. I even did a short video a few weeks back on the store’s history!
B&H should no doubt be your go-to spot for any and all gear needs here in the city.
2. BRIC House
A creative sanctuary
Thanks to a tip from Ilia Sky I was made known about BRIC House. Situated in Brooklyn, it's a community and resource center where artists, media makers, and educators come together.
Their spot features a contemporary art gallery, a flexible performance space, artist workspaces, and classes, alongside a public media center equipped with a television studio and equipment for content creation.
They also host regular events and exhibitions, which offer you chances to connect with other artists, professionals, and enthusiasts in the creator economy.
3. CitizenM Hotel
Co-working with a view
We hosted an event at CitizenM back in November on their rooftop, it was a blast with beautiful views. But their hotel lobby is a hidden treasure for co-working.
Their co-working space is filled with a ton of modern art, spacious meeting areas, and high-speed Wi-Fi, making it an ideal setting for both work and inspiration.
If you want to co-work, you can simply get a day pass or co-working memberships that provide access to workspaces without the need for an overnight stay.
4. P&T Knitwear Bookstore, Coffee, & Podcast Studio
Where stories come to life
Tucked away in the Lower East Side, P&T Knitwear is an innovative space that combines the love for books, the comfort of coffee, and the growing demand for podcasting studios.
You can access their fully equipped podcast studio for free, which is perfect for recording high-quality audio for any type of podcast — all you need is a reservation.
They also have regular events like book signings, readings and workshops that provide opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and industry professionals.
5. Creator Economy Jobs
While we've covered NYC-based resources, I wanted to highlight one resource that is useful for anyone, regardless of location. Creator Economy Jobs is a treasure trove for anyone looking to leap into a new role or hire for a new role. I've browsed through recently, and the opportunities are as diverse as they are exciting.
Any resources in the city that I may have missed? I’d love to hear them and keep tabs on them for the community — let me know by replying back to this email!

COMMUNITY CALLOUTS
Studio368 — the NYC creator workspace co-founded by Casey Neistat in 2018 — is closing its doors. We’re sad to see it go.

BRETT’S BITES
Colin & Samir’s latest podcast interview with Hank Green was fantastic.
This TikTok explaining why your kids actually won’t be able to access your past content. Of course, the comment section was the best part.
Got this BILT credit card, which you can pay rent with (no fees) and earn rewards. We New Yorkers know expensive rent, so why not get rewarded for paying it 🤷🏽♂️.
